Custom Party Decor

I love to incorporate unique touches to my events and parties.  In addition to custom linens, I created my own little masterpiece with just a few items from around my home to add  Flair and customize the party. 

 For the artwork about the fireplace, I used a picture frame, fabric, wire, wooden #2, and ribbon to customize my daughter's tea party.I added ribbon to a white picture frame and used fabric that I used throughout my design as a background.  I twisted the wire to form a teacup and covered it with ribbon, then centered it in the frame. The painted #2 (my baby girls' age) was added to the middle of the "teacup" and wha-la! a unique custom piece of art that complimented the decor.
Another custom piece which I loved was the pearl chandelier.  I spray painted a chandelier with pearl colored paint and attached  pearls to it in a looping design. 

  I worked perfectly with my design and really was the Flair Factor at the center of the scene!

Add unique pieces and use a little imagination to create a customized space for your event! 

Kids Spring Tea Party

Paisley, Polka dot and Pearls, three looks I love! I thought it would be perfect together for a little girl's Spring Tea Party. So I ran with it for my daughter's 2nd birthday. To keep the party fresh and fun, I paired them with a vibrant palette of orange, yellow and teal. I used the perfect paisley fabric with hues of the three colors throughout my design to bring my vision to fruition. I mixed polka dots and pearl accents to complete my look. Starting with the invitation, the little guests got a peak into what they would experience.

The first impression,

The experience starts at the door with a simple fringe wreath using the paisley fabric, and wooden arrow sign.

Paisley table runners and a table cap for the desert table were made to anchor of the design. The table setting included teabag cookies and a cookie spoon to snack on. Mango peach juice was served in bottles outfitted with pearls for girls and bow ties for boys.  Napkin were wrapped with pearl napkin rings. I used boxwood ball topiary's topped mini urns as the centerpieces, mini milk pitchers also held smaller boxwood balls, and birdcages for a springtime feel.  I hung a pearl chandelier above the table for an ultra feminine touch!

Aren't these the cutest petite chivari chairs for our little ones from Petite Seats? Chairs for girls were also decked out with pearls and bows! Olive Branch Papery did a fab job designing all of the my baby girls' stationery.

A pearl chandelier is a must! Isn't it?

Every tea party should have one of these....And the piece de resistance... a vintage tea cart! I love it!

Our Deserts Display included custom sugar cookies, cake pops, french macarons, cheesecake, jello jars, and chocolate covered strawberries.

The kids had a great time at the party. After "tea", we changed into comfy clothes and went outdoors for an Easter egg hunt and egg decorating! 

 Tea parties are always a cute idea to have for little girls, but little boys will enjoy it as well! 

New Year, New Baby Gender Reveal Part

I can't believe how time has flown by! We are practically a full month into 2014! Well for the new year at hand, I have a gender reveal to share from a "New Year, New Baby" reveal party. Gender reveal decor doesn't always have to be in your typical pink and blue color palette.  For a fresh modern take, I chose a gender neutral colorway of mint green, gold, with accents of silver. Since the reveal was held during the holiday season, props were made from tinsel, ornament balls, and glitter created a festive atmosphere.  But it doesn't have to be the holiday season to use glitter and sparkly accents! I would use it any time of the year to glam up my events and add Flair! The male and female gender symbols were used throughout the decor. Check out some of fun details below.

Summer Entertaining

The unofficial start to Summer is here! Are you all set for summer entertaining? No? Well head on over to Pottery Barn and check out the Galvanized Collection. It's a summer must have!

Which of these beauties are your favorite? I'm going with the galvanized party bucket and stand, and the 3 tier serving stand. Wait a minute, the bottle caddy makes the cut as well. Okay.. I love all of the pieces!!

 I am totally a fan of mason jars, and I have a thing for drink dispensers. Put them together and what do you get? The Mason Jar dink dispenser! Place it on top if the galvanized drink dispenser stand to complete the look. I love it!

 Whats summer without ice cream? Bring your event to a sweet end with this cute galvanized star tier stand is perfect to display desert, toppings, cones, or what ever you feel it. It will look great.  

 Check out the galvanized star collection to add patriotic flair to your celebration. It would be a great addition to a Fourth of July celebration! 

Baby Shower: Popcorn Buffet

Try something different...opt for a popcorn buffet for a baby shower (or any event)!  I always knew that I wanted to use the "about to pop" idea for my baby shower. And I love popcorn, so creating a popcorn buffet worked out perfectly for my shower.  If you enjoy eating all types of popcorn, this is the buffet for you!  I find the popcorn buffet to be an economical alternative to a candy buffet. You can offer up  a plethora of flavors to please all palettes, sweet, salty, spicy, savory, you name it!  Here's what I offered, and how I added Flair  to the display.

Guests  had the option of adding butter, ranch, or nacho cheese flavorings to freshly popped plain popcorn 

  Various flavors of popcorn were offered  including Asiago & Cracked Pepper, Caramel & Chocolate, White Cheddar, Peanut Butter, Chipotle & Lime.

 You dont' have to limit yourself to candy and deserts for a sweet ending. Popcorn can be sweet as well!

Baby Shower: Building our Family Block by Block

Happy New Year All...(as I blow a bit of dust off of my blog)!! I'm looking forward to what 2013 has in store for The Flair Factor, that I'll share with you on Fete Fanatic. Between the baby and business..I should have lots to share! In fact, just the other day I received an inquiry about my baby shower and realized that I never shared photos on my blog! First off, let me send a big THANK YOU to Chris over at Celebrations at Home and Baby Lifestyles for featuring my shower! Please enjoy the details and photos below!
The theme.. “Building our family one Block at a time". A celebration starts with the invitation, so I chose a modern style that gave my guests a peek at what to expect. Christine of The Olive Branch Papery executed my vision for the stationery perfectly!

Decor started at my front door with over sized building blocks which flanked the entrance of the porch, and a handcrafted ruffled wreath on the front door.

Typically a family member or girlfriend plans a baby shower to honor the mother to be. My shower was planned by my family and friends, but I just couldn't resist adding my styling expertise! :-)  I customized unpainted building blocks with paint in the color scheme of pink & aqua (I love shades of aqua!). Expecting a baby girl doubled the fun when styling the shower. I absolutely love feminine touches, and knew that I had to incorporate girly elements. Along with building blocks and teddy bears, ruffles and rosettes were my style trend of choice.

Guests were welcomed with a pink grapefruit or berry lemonade spritzer with tiny pacifiers adorning the drinking straws.

Tables were dressed in fitted white ruffled table toppers which I designed to accentuated the aqua linens. The centerpieces were hand painted building blocks with teddy bears dressed up in little pink skirts, a rosette bow, and a signature logo tee which matched our stationery.

  Ruffles and rosettes were incorporated into just about everything.. the cake, signage, table linens, guest of honors chair sashes, custom pillow (for my back)…Everywhere I could put them!!

Signage included handmade “baby girl” banner created with ribbon, painted wooden letters, and  fabric rosettes

Prizes for the shower games were wrapped in the colors of the shower and doubled as decor on the fireplace mantle.

Guests went home with personalized teddy bear favors and lots of popcorn!”
