Simple Spring Tablescape

Happy Friday!
What are you planning for Mother's Day this weekend? Are you putting together a special breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner for Moms on Sunday?  I have a super simple, vibrant, tablescape I created in the spirit of celebrating Spring for my studio space.  It's the perfect inspiration for designing your Mother's Day tablescape! Choosing a festive fabric was my starting point, and used it throughout my design.
This fabric definitely has a lot going on, but isn't it pretty? I paired it with a yellow gingham tablecloth..
so Spring!
Fabric wrapped around the centerpiece, gorgeous pink roses!
Adding interest, I paired a round dinner plate, with a square salad plate, and a fun fabric napkin set atop a rattan charger for texture.
In keeping with the spring feel, fresh herbs dill and rosemary were used as a parting favor.
This is perfect to double as a placecard, simply tie the name of your guest to the plant or set a tent card right in front.

As a prelude to the highly anticipated desert table, I added tiny cupcakes inside tealight holders for a taste of whats to come!
Cheers!

Happy Mother's Day to all! Enjoy your weekend!!

Cookie Results

Ok so there it is..my attempt at baby shower cookies. I didn't do this in years, but it turned out ok. I kinda forgot which consistency works better for the outline, and fill.. hence the little frosting drip on the footprint in the back. I have to sharpen my skills! But I'm still proud of myself. I'll keep you posted on my practice runs! "Hopefully practice makes perfect!"

Sweets & Treats: Exotic Elegance

Last week I posted a preview of a Sweets & Treats Table that I was working on for a celebration.(And yes..I had to taste test the gumballs, just to make sure they tasted as good as they looked.:-)) I designed a festive table that spoke to the couple's Caribbean heritage. I brought it to life with a vibrant color palette of yellow, purple and orange, and incorporated the exotic flower birds of paradise, palm leaves and floating candles for a touch of elegance. To say the least, the couple loved every bit if it, but I think their guests loved it even more!
Take a look...

Check out the background, the centerpieces overflowed with exotic tropical blooms! I know it's dark..Hopefully I can get my hands on some pro pics to share.

Ok check out the adults.. the poor kids were at the back and couldn't even get their little hands in! LOL!

Is there a reason this take out container couldn't close? Too much candy for one person, that's why.

Preview: Sweets & Treats!

I'm working on a Sweets & Treats table for a vibrant celebration this weekend, and I was so tempted to taste test the yummy candy yesterday. It smelled sooooo good when I opened the packages! Don't worry, I refrained. :-)
Here's a preview of what's to come!

Oh wait... When I opened these custom M&M's there were a few white M&M's with another couple's name on them. So guess what, I ate them! What was I suppose to do, they didn't belong. Don't tell me you never tasted any of the goodies before the presentation....

Perfect Paper Treat Bags

Here's a nifty little idea that will accommodate your homemade party favors perfectly.. The brown paper bag! I love the homey simplicity of it. It will give your party favor that extra feeling of comfort and love. There's just something about that brown paper bag... It's a great economical solution for favor boxes. Can you beat 100 bags for a buck? Can you? A penny per bag? :-) Pick up some paper lunch bags from your local dollar store and embellish them accordingly and WHA-LA!

Sweets and Treats!

These are the goodies from my girlfriends'( luv of the sea) gathering. I chose the modern color combo of red for love ( it was the day before Valentines Day), and turquoise blue for the sea, and touches of black. I didn't go with any of the typical nautical decor. Instead I kept it simple and used Food to reflect our theme.
Treats and Sweets!

I couldn't leave out goldfish! It fit so well with the theme!

Chocolate Liqueur cups

My version of strawberry short cake..Strawberry Short Kiss! French Vanilla ice cream smushed between homemade shortbread cookies in the shape of lips (can you tell, and of course, fresh strawberries. YUM!

Those who didn't want strawberries drenched their ice cream in chocolate

Everyone went home with yummy gummy fish and lobsters
