Cheers!

Need some fresh new chic ideas for your next shindig? Well check out the the fun fashionable Cheers Collection from Mikasa. They make the perfect housewarming, wedding, birthday, hostess or holiday gifts. Or just freshen up your china cabinet with these beautiful modern pieces.

Take a look at the Mikasa video below for brilliant ideas for throwing the perfect party. I just happen to use some of these ideas myself. The shrimp cocktail in a shot glass is always a hit at my parties. I've also tried a salad in a martini glass. But they used it for serving chips and dip! That's a must try for me. Love that! Check it out! It's always nice to surprise your guests with unexpected treats. I would love to know which Mikasa idea you would use at your party. Or maybe you have another fun idea, please share! I may just have a surprise up my sleeve for you! ;-)

Honey deserts?

photo sourceOk, so I'm brainstorming some desert ideas for a sweets and treat table for a baby shower next week. The theme is "the birds & the bees" and I need some ideas for deserts with honey! I was thinking some type of parfait with honey would be interesting. I'm at a loss right now!? Any suggestions?

Talent -vs- Taste?

I will be attending a cake tasting for the babyshower that I am planning. The baker is extremely talented with her designs. I'm just wondering how the cake will taste. I really do hope it taste as good as they look! I would think if you can bake and design it'll be equally as tasty.. right? She does really impressive work so we'll see....
So with that said...Will you order a gorgeous cake that doesn't taste that great? I may have to pass if it doesn't.
In the meantime I'll leave you with these Amazing cakes I came across!

RSVP... Please!

Why is so difficult to get your guest to RSVP on time, or even at all? I am in the process of planning a babyshower and trying to decide on the best way to get the guest to respond to the invitation. In the past,I've tried email, phone calls, response cards, you name it! I don't think anything works. There are always a few folks who just doesn't get it. This time I'm going to try it another way. How about RSVPing if you can not attend? Regrets only.... Hopefully this works. Which way do you find it easier to get your guest to RSVP???

An Apple a Day.......

I doubt these apples will keep the Dr. away, but they sure are scrumptious! I'm really feeling these delicious treats. They can be used in a desert buffet or made into a "create your own candy apple" station. Aren't these great for baby showers, bridal showers, birthday parties and wedding! You can use a variety of colorful sweets to incorporate your event color palette. Colored chocolate, caramel, M&M's nuts, coconut, sprinkles, colored sugar.. the list goes on and on! I'm soooo gonna have to try these in one of my sweet treats table's designs! Check out these beauties!

Perfect for a Fall event! Well-Wed

Patriotic Paper Craft

A fun easy way to decorate for July 4th is using paper crafts. Try this simple cone wreath to add some patriotic Flair to your BBQ this weekend! This one is on my TO DO list!
Wanna try it? Here's what you'll need

Materials
Double-sided tape
4 (5- by 6-inch) pieces each of red, white, and blue card stock
Cardboard, cut into a 10-inch circle, plus more for a star (we used a cereal box)
Clear tape
Tacky glue
Aluminum foil
String

Instructions
To make a paper cone, place a strip of double-sided tape along the shorter edge of a piece of card stock. Roll the paper as shown, then press to adhere. Repeat with the remaining sheets of card stock.

Place a strip of double-sided tape on the back of each cone. Lay the cones in alternating colors on the cardboard circle and press to adhere. Turn the wreath over and secure each cone to the back with a piece of clear tape

Vintage Circus Tablescape

I've seen quite a bit of vintage Circus parties floating around the web lately and decided to share one of my recent find. This tablescape is from ghostacademy blog, submitted to the Utterly Engaged tablescape contest. Aren't the little mini bunting flags and the prize ribblons the cutest? And I was just talking about popcorn the other day.. Love those boxes!
