Sweet 16 Party ideas

A friend of mine asked me to post a few ideas for a sweet 16 party. The first thing that came to mind was of course Candy and Sweets!

Polka Dots Galore! Baby Shower continued......

The Details

Colors- I was asked to stay away from baby pink,yellow, baby blue and mint green. Instead we chose Royal Blue and Lime Green for a modern feel.

Blue, Green, and White balloons were floating in the ceiling along with polka dot ruffle umbrella's hung over each table and the guest of honor's chair. Blue and Green table runners accented white table linens.


Guest of honor's chair, with a little polka dot pillow to keep the mommy to be comfy!


Menu


Centerpieces- Blue and Green balls "dots" were incorporated into the floral arrangement of white carnations for a touch of whimsy.




Water crystal "dots" filled the centerpiece vases.


Tables were adorned with tiny baby bottles and pacifiers


Each guest had a shower game booklet at their place setting




Gift bags


Shower favors were the cutest polka dot ruffle umbrella's, which were also used in the decor.




Favor labels were already attached to the umbrella at the time of purchase. It was perfect to write a personalized message to the guests.

Geared up for today's Shower!

No... I don't mean the snow showers that hit the the NY/NJ area today. I'm talking about the Polka Dot Baby Shower. Though it was crumby and damp out, our mother to be didn't let it put a damper on her celebration!

On my quest for a unique invitation, I came across an interesting site called Beyond the Invite. That's exactly where I wanted to go... beyond the regular invitation. Masterpiece Weddings, an event coordination agency founded by Melissa Margarita-DiStefano, is working really hard to put on an amazing fundraiser in February called Let’s Eat Cake! - which will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital - an incredible organization that’s dedicated to treating children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases.

Let’s Eat Cake! is a wedding cake competition, featuring Wedding Cake confections from all over the United States. Bakers will feature their cakes to be judged by Local and National Culinary Celebrities. In addition bakers will be asked to make enough cake to feed the general public, so that they may judge the cakes as well!

Our Goal is to raise $50,000 for this extremely worthy cause, we know times are tough for everyone out there. But that doesn't mean that kids still aren't getting sick. Please help spread the word about our goal, and our mission. Polka Dot Baby Shower

The Polka Dot Baby Shower inspiration is coming to life. The invitations were chosen and are in circulation! She chose a simple design with green and hues of blue dots. Thanks for your input!

I wrote a little rhyme to add to the excitement of the anticipated new arrival.

New Year's Eve at home

We had an intimate affair at our home to ring in the new year with family and close friends. I served up a champagne mango sparklers (which was a hit) and some of the light appetizer options from my previous post. I kept the decor pretty simple by utilizing my X-Mas color palette to save in on $$. Ornaments from my tree came in handy.



Tinsel was used to make the table festive.


It also jazzed up the votives
